Over the years, Samsung’s One UI has evolved and become a favorite among Android users. The upcoming One UI 6 update, based on Android 14, is all about making it even better. While it may not bring a lot of new, big changes, it’s all about making things smoother and more polished. One UI 6: At a glance
- When can you expect it? One UI 6 is now becoming available in different parts of the world, such as Germany, the UK, Finland, Norway, and more. It should be coming to the US shortly.

One UI 6 release date
Samsung rolled out the stable One UI 6 update for the Galaxy S23 series on October 30, 2023. This update is built on the foundation of One UI Beta 9, which means it received some additional tweaks and enhancements following the final beta version.
Is there a One UI 6 beta?
The One UI 6 beta program has been around for a while and it’s been through nine betas before the final update. You can try the beta if you have one of these Samsung devices:
- Samsung Galaxy S23
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Samsung Galaxy A54 5G
- Samsung Galaxy A53
- Samsung Galaxy A52
- Samsung Galaxy A34 5G

- Samsung Galaxy S22 (only in South Korea)
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5
To get the beta on your device, start by downloading the Samsung Members app from the Galaxy Store or Google Play. Once you’re logged in, look for the “Registration for One UI Beta Program” option on the home banner or notices page. After that, head to your device’s Settings, go to Software Update, and select Download and Install. If the beta is available for your device and in your region, Samsung will fetch the latest beta version for your device.
One UI 6 features
The upcoming One UI 6 update brings some exciting additions to your Android device. You can look forward to:
- A fresh look with a new font and easier-to-understand icon labels.
- New widgets like a weather insights widget and a handy camera widget for quick access to your favorite camera modes.
- More control over your screen’s appearance, allowing you to change fonts and layout.
- Enhanced Quick Settings panel, featuring a dedicated row for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings, plus some additions for eye comfort and dark mode.
- Improved notification panel, which separates individual notifications as separate cards.
- An app drawer that lets you search for specific long-press functions within apps.
- A new style for emojis in the Samsung keyboard.
- Enhancements in the gallery app, photo editor, camera app, weather app, and more.
One UI 6 compatibility
The One UI 6 update is currently available only on the Galaxy S23 series but will eventually arrive on every Galaxy S handset from the S21 onward, including all Plus and Ultra variants. You’ll also be able to get it on the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 or higher. It’s also available for the Galaxy Tab S7 FE, Galaxy Tab S8 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. Even many budget Samsung phones will see the update, including a variety of members across the M series, F series, and A series.
